Thunder Mountain started with a simple dream.

Growing up, siblings Rich and Lulu Fenning always talked about owning a place where they could ride forever. They dreamed of having their own property with trails right outside the door, a place where every ride could start the moment they stepped outside.

​

That dream became reality when Rich discovered the trails of southern West Virginia and introduced Lulu and the rest of the family to this incredible part of the state. They immediately fell in love, not only with the riding, but with everything that makes West Virginia special. The mountains, the fresh air, the quiet, the views, and the genuine southern hospitality made them feel at home from the very first trip. Before long, they knew this was where they wanted to be.

Today, Thunder Mountain sits high in the mountains of southern West Virginia, offering the privacy, freedom, and adventure that is hard to find anywhere else. Located directly off the Hatfield McCoy Trail System with access to both Pocahontas Trail 13 and Trail 17, you can leave your truck and trailer parked and ride straight from your cabin.

The Pocahontas Trail System connects directly to Indian Ridge, Pinnacle Creek, and Warrior. It also provides access to Virginia's Spearhead Trails, creating one of the largest connected off road trail networks in the country. With hundreds of miles of scenic mountain trails, incredible overlooks, and endless opportunities to explore, your adventure begins the moment you pull out of the driveway.

When the riding is over, relax around a campfire, take in the mountain views, enjoy a sky full of stars, or simply appreciate the peace and quiet that made our family fall in love with this place.
